Trying something new...
Covering the highs, lows, ins and outs of my week— Sept. 8th-15th. Literally anything and everything goes.
Hello friends! This is a new thing I’m going to try: a weekly—we’ll see how long I stick to that—newsletter covering a handful of random topics, problems and obsessions throughout my week.
I’m planning on updating every Sunday or every other Sunday, as it all depends on my level of productivity and the number of hyper-fixations I have throughout the week…
Through this newsletter I’ll share my latest likes, dislikes, obsessions and opinions of my week—no one asked, I’m just bored and am currently loving this creative outlet. I’ll write about all of the little, random, entertaining and hopefully relatable things that make or break my week. From songs I’m loving to books I’m currently reading, this newsletter is a peek into what’s been going on and getting me through it. Hopefully, it’ll be a little different every week, we shall see…
Now, let’s finally get into the first topic of this week’s newsletter— a new obsession of mine that I literally partake in almost every day— Roblox’s “Dress To Impress” game.
CURRENT OBSESSION: DRESS TO IMPRESS
The game D.T.I and its endless fashion opportunities have become a daily activity and growing obsession of mine.
I was introduced to D.T.I. by my sis-in-law when she texted me last week that I needed to try out this game. After trying to figure out forever how to download the Roblox file and after figuring out the layout of the game, it became something I played literally all the time.
In D.T.I. you are put into a live lobby, I’m feeling a mix of Gen Z and heavy Gen Alpha, where you have a theme and five minutes to make your avatar fit that theme. Themes can range from topics like animals, movie characters, colors, etc. Sometimes a lot of the lobbies are just a different font of “coquette” which gets repetitive, but besides that… I fuck with it hard. There are a bunch of clothing pieces, patterns, hairstyles, makeup and accessories you can put on your model—many I’m still trying to get the hang of. Anyways, after the five minutes are up, everyone in the lobby hits the runway, you vote their look 1-5 stars, and then the top three are revealed after the round. The satisfaction and endorphins that I get from placing top three give me the daily dose of affirmations that I need.
Final thing on D.T.I.… this game may seem pointless, but it heals my inner child somehow and it’s a fun way to pass the time when I’d usually be staring at the wall or other stupid shit. Plus, you can add friends to the game and play in the same lobby as them. I play with my S.I.L. a lot and it’s so funny and entertaining. Chile—thank u, next!
FAVORITES IN MUSIC
Albums and songs I can’t stop listening to on repeat.
I’ve been listening to these five songs over and over again, however, there is a time and a place for each song throughout my day. “Close To You” I listen to when I want to strut to class and pretend I can relate to this kind of relationship. It’s a strut and dance internally while on the way to class song for me. “Supercut” I play whenever, mostly in my room accompanied with a shoulder dance move or a mental spiral. “365” is just a song that has been constantly stuck in my head this week; I can’t stop singing the bump bump bump beat in the background. “Black Mascara” (Live at the Royal Albert Hall version specifically) is a song I play in the car with my windows down— bonus points if it’s on a highway on full volume—just trust and try it. Both the live and normal version slap so astronomically hard. Finally, “Sad People” by my boy Scotty. Dude. This song. is such. a vibe. I will never get tired of this song. I usually play this while I garden or when I walk out of class and need to feel like I should celebrate the fact I got out of bed to go to class.

These four albums I’ve also been listening to on shuffle a lot. “Kansas Anymore” feels like driving with the windows down in the fall or like the type of hug where you and the person you’re hugging just fit together like a puzzle piece. Also, I am a child of divorced parents with this album. (Tucker and Emma, rip babes.) “BUG” was recommended to me by one of my besties, and I am truly obsessed. I needed new music and Kacy’s sound just did it for me. It’s giving Netflix’s “Heartstopper” soundtrack vibes meets green witch dancing during the spring equinox vibes. I really have grown to love this album. “1989 (TV)” I’ve been listening to throughout the week also, but mostly just the “vault” songs. These vault songs tickle my brain and feel like I just took a hit from a mango pineapple ice vape—they’re comforting, classic and more addictive with every hit. Finally, Joji’s album “Nectar” has been a constant listen for me. I was obsessed with it when it came out during quarantine, and I always come back to it. This album gives off major head bopping energy or laying on the floor at a party or something energy. Next!
men I’VE BEEN OBSESSED WITH
Two men come to mind when I think of this past week’s fixations…
Kit Connor is not a new obsession for me, nor from just this week, but with his Broadway debut coming soon and “Heartstopper” season three coming back next month, he’s become a “Tier One” for me…again. Examples for how I know he’s becoming a “Tier One” obsession for me: my fyp on TikTok consists of edits of him, I made a Pinterest board of him instead of doing homework the other day, and I literally love him…sooooooo yeah. I’m keeping my identity basically private on this newsletter so he doesn’t think I’m weird when we eventually meet and fall in love because I’ve never heard of him before and happen to live in England also. Cheerio, next!
Second man is Dexter Morgan from the show “Dexter” on Netflix, played by the wonderful and emotionless Michael C. Hall. I am currently rewatching the show and on season five; it’s getting good, but I fear my favorite seasons have already passed. (Seasons two and four are gold, imo) Dexter is a show about Hall’s character and how he murders killers while he works for the Miami P.D. I love this show…although it has its moments of icky men that I literally cannot watch or listen to…Agent Batista I’m literally and only talking about you.
RANDOM THINGS I’VE BEEN CONSUMING
Lightning round of items that define this week for me…
Stir Fry - This week I’ve made a lot of it—I just love chopping and throwing random shit into a pan and calling it a day. I always make too much though.
Trader Joe’s iced oatmeal bar. My nephew gave me one once—the rest is history.
Pinterest is one of my favorite apps. I make boards for everything, constantly. They’re all private though, as I’m not ready to open myself up like that to my six followers.
My Conair Clothing Steamer. Nothing left to say, diva speaks for herself.
LEAVING YOU WITH THIS…
For this last bit of the newsletter, here are some random text message threads I participated in this week with no context.
Thank you, truly, for taking the time to read through this week’s rants and thoughts. Love ya! Feel free to subscribe or whatever, I don’t care…(it’ll make my day.)
As said S.I.L. I am honored 🫡
OBSESSED. Make me stir fry 🥸
